“After a few years at a smaller metro area agency, I decided to join the Sheriff’s Office as a lateral hire. My only regret in the process is that I didn’t apply sooner. CCSO is a great agency — lateraling here has been an excellent career move.”

— Deputy S. Tooze

“I joined Clackamas County just over two years ago after working at a smaller law-enforcement agency on the Oregon coast. While I loved the agency I worked for, I’ve really enjoyed my time with CCSO.  My coworkers are amazing, the community is supportive, and the opportunities for professional advancement are endless! I felt immediately welcomed into the CCSO family.”

— Deputy K. Wilson

“I joined CCSO as a lateral hire in 2018. I love the freedom of living and working in Clackamas County. The residents expect — and appreciate — our ability to get things done. There are take-home cars, great benefits, special teams, and a wide variety of districts to patrol. It’s hard to find a better agency. I found everything I was looking for at Clackamas County.”

— Deputy B. Mayer
